Workshops
Monster Tower Building
Rochester Square Summer Open Studios, 2023
I hosted a drop in workshop making a tower of toppling creatures. Using recycled clay, I encouraged participants to stack the tower as high as it could go, sculpting as many creatures as we could think up.
Smoke Firing Workshop
Camden Art Centre, 2023
Assisting Artist Claire Bevacqua with constructing & fast firing 4 metal bin kilns. Assisting 2 workshops where participants made their works, applied slip and fired to bisque stage before applying resists, wrapping in found materials and layering each metal bin with sawdust and clay works.
Kings Cross Academy & Frank Barnes School For Deaf Children
3D Map Making, 2022
Hosted at Rochester Square we invited children from two schools to collaborate on 3D clay maps of their local area. This project invited the children to work together, using non verbal language like sign to interpret and sculpt the maps. We explored other ways of communicating and encouraged hard of hearing children to teach their peers, for example the sign for ‘bridge’ became a clay bridge in itself, illustrating the power of clay as an accessible material for all.
Camley Street Festival
Sculpt Your Dream Camley Street, 2022
As part of Rochester Square we joined the Camley Street Festival project, a daylong festivity to improve the safety and access of this through-road in the local area. We invited participants to think about how this area might look for them, encouraging a sense of agency and imagination for their environment.
